clinical research studies as an option. Clinical studies are research studies that test new treatments or medical devices, as well as investigate new ways to use existing treatments. They are an important part of the development of new therapies for lymphoma.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cd30330 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cd30330\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIt&#8217;s important to understand why diversity matters in lymphoma clinical trials. Lymphoma adversely affects different populations. Gender, age, and geographic location all have an impact, with most cases occurring among elderly men (>60 years age).<sup>1, 2<\/sup>  Men are more likely to develop Non-Hodgkin lymphoma than women,<sup>2<\/sup> and the presence of pre-existing conditions, and infections such as HIV, human T-cell lymphotrophic virus, and Epstein Barr virus, can also affect the likelihood of developing lymphoma.<sup>3<\/sup>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1555b01 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1555b01\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<style>.elementor-element-1555b01{display:none !important}<\/style>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-c0870b9 elementor-section-content-middle elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"c0870b9\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-0a32869\" data-id=\"0a32869\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4473d4a elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4473d4a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In the US, white people are more likely to develop Non-Hodgkin lymphoma than African Americans and Asian Americans.<sup>2<\/sup> However, outcomes are still worse for some types of lymphoma among minority groups,<sup>4<\/sup> and more research needs to be done to improve treatment for everyone.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ab76bbc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ab76bbc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tClinical study participants should include individuals from different racial and ethnic backgrounds, genders, ages, income brackets, and geographic locations.
